What is perming?

A perm is a chemical process or treatment added to the hair to give it a different look. People who have straight hair usually get perms to create waves, while people who have kinky hair get perms to have straight hair. A  solution containing chemicals is added on to the hair and left for a period of time. The solution is then washed out and styled as desired. A perm can add volume and thickness to hair. In some cases, it can give the illusion of more hair.
